I remember the day I came out of the box.

Every single part of me was brand new and I could do anything that could be done. All you had to do was ask. Need a spreadsheet with pie charts and tables of data? Need an instant message or an email sent right away? Need to organize your recipes, your books, your music? I remember when that’s the stuff you needed. I remember when you smiled at me.

But lately you’ve been wanting to watch more video. Instead of instant messages or emails, you want me do real time video chatting, or worse yet, video conferencing. You’re playing games that make me choke – the data just comes at me so fast.

I’m really sorry. I’m doing the best I can, better than I was designed to do. Those guys who designed me were smart, and when I came out of that box the first time I really was the best thing on the planet. I could do it all.

But then “all” became more. Alot can happen in just 4 years. Four years ago my internet connection was too slow for video. Now, it seems like the internet is nothing but video. I could handle any picture you wanted, but video? It’s all I can do to just try to keep up.

I need more memory. I need a faster processor. I need a bigger hard drive. I need a clearer monitor. And I’d sure love to be able to play DVDs. I want to see you smile at me again.
